Assign Mentee

Overview

Use Assign Mentee to connect one or more mentees to a validated mentor. This task is helpful when you need to manage mentoring relationships from the Mentor Activity area.

Permissions / Access

Who can perform this action?

  • Department Manager
  • Company Manager

Management Console -> Mentoring -> Mentor Activity

Steps

  1. Navigate to Management Console.
  2. Select the Mentoring tab.
  3. Select Mentor Activity.
  4. Select the Assign Mentees to Mentor drop-down arrow.
  5. Select the mentor you want to assign by using the drop-down list or by searching for the mentor.
  6. Select the mentee from the drop-down on the right.
  7. Click the Assign Mentees to Mentor button.

Result

  • The selected mentee is assigned to the selected mentor.
  • The mentoring relationship appears in the mentor activity records.

Notes / Tips

  • Mentors must complete a mentoring training module before they become available for assignment.
  • You can remove current mentees from a mentor by using the Unassign Mentees from Mentor arrow in the same area.

Troubleshooting

Common issue: The mentor does not appear in the selection list.

Solution: Confirm that the mentor has completed the required mentoring training module and has been validated.

Common issue: The mentee does not appear in the selection list.

Solution: Confirm that the mentee is active and available for mentoring assignment.

Common issue: The assignment does not update.

Solution: Reopen the Assign Mentees to Mentor section, confirm both selections, and click the assignment button again.
